Marilou Lyonnais Archambault, aka loum, is a multidisciplinary artist, music enthusiast, and seasoned curveball thrower. As a DJ, she stands out for her unpredictability, weaving sets that drift seamlessly between light and shadow. Rooted in the left-field electronic scene, her sonic palette blends dub, ambient jazz, and moody textures, always with a trace of thunder in the air. With a deeply refined sensitivity and an endlessly varied record bag, loum crafts atmospheres that unfold like soundtracks—each track part of a slow-burning narrative.

A member of the duo Saudade, she has performed at festivals such as Suoni Per Il Popolo, MUTEK, FIMAV, and Piknic Électronik. For over half a decade, she has co-hosted a radio show on n10.as with collaborator Nela Paki, fusing abstract rhythms, nostalgic dance music, and foggy atmospheres, with occasional appearances on CKUT.

Marilou holds a BFA in Visual and Media Arts Education from UQAM and is currently completing an MFA in Intermedia at Concordia University. Her visual practice explores memory, digitality, and liminal spaces through installations, sound, and image. Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, her work has been exhibited at PHI Centre, Eastern Bloc, and Never Apart, among others.
